Dear Parent/Carer,
Year 11 Public Examinations - Arrangements
With the summer public examination season about to begin, we are writing to outline the arrangements for the coming weeks and how we will continue to support your son/ward through this important period.
Year 11 students have been working extremely hard in their lessons, and it is vital that this effort continues right through to the end of their exams. Full attendance, punctuality, and engagement in school during this time are key factors in ensuring they achieve their full potential. Please note that absences for the purpose of revising at home will not be authorised.
Up until Friday 5 June, all students are expected to attend school every day like normal. Students will follow a structured programme and will be engaged in one of the following activities throughout the school day:
- Sitting a public exam
- Attending taught lessons for subjects with remaining exams
- Participating in supervised revision sessions to support preparation
- Attending a warm-up session (Period 4) prior to any afternoon exam.
These lessons and supervised revision sessions are carefully planned by staff to provide targeted support, reinforce key knowledge, and help students approach their exams with confidence. Attendance at school throughout this period is therefore essential and will make a significant difference to outcomes.
From Monday 8 June, students will only be required to attend school when they have a scheduled exam or a planned Period 4 warm-up session prior to their exam. Even during this time, we strongly encourage students to maintain a structured revision routine at home.
We would greatly appreciate your support in ensuring your child attends all required sessions, arrives punctually, and makes full use of the opportunities provided in school.
Finally, there will be a Year 11 assembly tomorrow morning at 8.30am. We expect all students in school on time and fully equipped. We appreciate your support with this.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school.
Yours sincerely,
Mr M Dargan
