Alumni - Arthur Moore, Stage Management at LAMDA

As we near the end of term, we wanted to highlight another former student who is embarking on a career in the performing arts. Arthur Moore will start his third and final year at LAMDA this September. LAMDA is the London Academy for Music and the Dramatic Art and is widely regarded as one of the top performing arts school not just in the UK, but the whole world! Arthur's production and technical arts: stage and screen undergraduate degree pursues his passion for stage management.

Arthur directly credits the school for helping him realise his love of the backstage technical side. It began in Year 8, where he was taught the ropes by the performing arts team. Always a quick study, Arthur then was the school's stage manager for every school production as well as being an active member of the Performing Arts Tech Crew - an after-school club which teaches students about working backstage.

During his time at LAMDA, Arthur has had the opportunity to work in every backjstage department - from sound all the way to scenic construction on many internal productions. This year, he has taken on more senior roles and responsibilities. This has included production carpenter, production manager and, of course, stage manager. He has also taken several work placements, including as assistant stage manager at the Lyric Theatre Hammersmith for their Christmas pantomime. Arthur harbours ambitions of working in the West End and beyond. We are so proud that such a dedicated, hard-working and pleasant student is making a success of himself. It is a great example of how studying at I&S can open doors later in life.
